26.09.2017: In Posn. 03:48.73N - 006:35.96E, Around 45nm SW off Bonny, Nigeria.
Pirates attacked a tanker and disabled all communication equipment on board. Some crew members were reported missing. Nigerian navy escorted vessel to Lagos anchorage. The tanker and remaining crew are safe.
Vessels are advised to exercise caution in the vicinity of the position given in this report and maintain maximum CPA with any vessel acting suspiciously.
Early assessment / detection will allow ships to take evasive measures to prevent boarding and request for assistance.
All attacks and suspicious sightings should be reported.
